Net Content = The amount of the trade item contained by a package as claimed on the label. Retailers use this value to create shelf price tags that match the package. It’s important that the value here matches the label claim exactly.
For products with discrete units within the trade item (e.g. 6-pack of yogurts, 4-pack of drinks, 12-rolls of toilet paper), the Net Content might not be entered exactly as it appears on the packaging. The Net Content must be entered to capture the total trade item.
For some products, there should be 2 x Net Content / Net Content UOM entered. If there is both content and count values on the product, then two values will be entered.
Example product: 8 x 130 GRM Yoghurt pack...
In NPC Publisher, the Net Content is entered with 2 x Net Content fields. The first field capturing the content of the total trade item (1040 GRM), the second field capturing the number of units (8). The unit of measure (UOM) can be either Each or Count.
In NPC Rapid, the Net Content of the total trade item is calculated for you - if the net content is entered correctly. Enter the number of discrete units (8) and the net content of each unit (130g).
