How to download a QR Code powered by GS1

Downloading your own QR Code powered by GS1 is easy in the MyGS1NZ member portal! Follow the simple steps below. Login to your existing MyGS1NZ account, or sign up to license barcodes and assign numbers to your products.

Note: You'll need to be on the latest version of MyGS1 (shown on the right). If your portal looks like the legacy version on the left and you'd like to download QR Codes, please contact us.

Once logged in, then head to the MyProducts > Allocated Barcodes section and go to the product page of the item you would like to generate a graphic for. In the top right, click the Download Graphic button.

On the next page, select one of the Next Generation Barcode options then click “+ Add Link”

Next, choose how you would like to resolve your links. If you are a beginner, it is simpler to use the GS1 Resolver. If you are a more advanced user, you can also choose to use your own resolver – for more information please check this document.

If you selected the GS1 resolver, enter a Link Title and the URL/link you would like the scanner to be directed to. Note that the default Link Type is set to Product Information page, if you would like to set a different type of link, click Advanced Options and choose a different link type.

Once you have set the link, you will be returned to the Barcode Graphic selection page. Choose your preferred orientation for the QR code to appear and select Download Barcode.

The download will begin, you will then be given a preview of the graphic and can choose what you would like to do next.

Usually, your 2D barcode will save to your computers download folder. Note that the file will be in .eps format, which should be opened using design software.
