Using GS1 Wordmark

You can now add the GS1 Wordmark to your QR Code Powered By GS1 for stronger global recognition. It signals to your customers that your QR code is smartphone-ready and will scan at the point of sale.

What is a Wordmark?

A Wordmark is a 'trademark consisting of a word or text, often graphically stylised, used to identify a company, product, or service'.

What does the GS1 Wordmark look like?

This displays as ‘GS1®’ above your QR code when you download a graphic from MyGS1.

Can I choose not to include the Wordmark?

Yes, you can untick the 'Include GS1 Wordmark' box when downloading a barcode graphic in MyGS1.

Why should I use it?

Including the GS1 Wordmark makes it easier to quickly identify that the QR Code is different from a regular QR Code, as it can be scanned at checkouts as well as by a smartphone.
