How to check and update your product data in bulk

Purpose:

This article outlines the steps to update important product data in bulk. 

If you need to update your product status to be inactive, or change the visibility to private, then read this article here.

Step 1: Log in to MyGS1

Step 2: Navigate to the product data download page

  • Via the left-hand side navigation menu click on MyProducts (Barcodes) followed by any of the ‘View Products’ links displayed in the table. You will be sent to a new page. 

Step 3: Download the product data spreadsheet

  • On the new page, select the ‘Download all product information for bulk update’ option followed by the ‘Continue’ button. 
  • A pop-up dialogue box will appear with instructions, take note of these and click ‘Continue’ to download your product data into an excel spreadsheet.
  • It may take up to 30 seconds for the spreadsheet to be in your downloads folder.

Step 4: Open the spreadsheet and make necessary updates

  • Open the spreadsheet from your downloads folder to view your product data. Serious product data accuracy issues will be highlighted for you. Check the following product data attributes and make any updates in the spreadsheet.
    • Product description
    • Brand name
    • Product description
    • Global product classification
    • Net content & unit of measure
    • Country of Sale
    • Image (if applicable)
    • Product website url

Step 5: Send the updated spreadsheet to our support team

  • Email the spreadsheet back to our support team at support@gs1nz.org
  • The team will review your data, send any clarifying questions then upload the changes to the system for you.
