Your Woolworths NZ and Foodstuffs Online Content

Both Foodstuffs and Woolworths NZ really need accurate and rich product information to help sell supplier's products. The below shows where, and how, these retailers use the content. Suppliers use GS1's ProductFlow to collate the below information and synchronise it directly into the retailer's systems.

Woolworths NZ receives product master data, images, and on pack information directly from GS1 New Zealand’s National Product Catalogue (NPC). 

You can manage this data in the application we have set you up in - NPC Publisher or NPC Rapid

  1. Images - image urls from GS1 NZ’s MediaLibrary are sent into the NPC under Marketing & Warranty < Referenced File Header. Note that this url is not visible in NPC Rapid. 
    • Woolworths NZ’s view is that having more image detail helps sales - they would like up to 11 images of each product (Woolworths image specs here)
    • Images will be visible in Woolworths’ Partner Hub product page
    • If your images are not appearing in Partner Hub, please check that you have set the Image Source to GS1 New Zealand (as detailed at https://woolworths.my.salesforce.com/sfc/p/#7F000002Cfvo/a/Ie000000fyDC/rHNTSBtnEQP3KLlKkWLrjsz.DcRAhIRvbqOy5xUcHPQ)
      • If your images are not visible in Partner Hub more than 24-hours after you have updated the image source, please raise an Admin Case from within your Partner Hub account
    • The Woolworths NZ team will review all images before posting them to the website. The current turnaround time for this is 3-5 business days
  2. On Pack Information - if collected by GS1 NZ, on pack information is sent to the NPC under Food, Beverage & Tobacco - this information is also visible in NPC Rapid under the On Pack tab. 
    • On pack information will be visible in Woolworths’s Partner Hub product page.
    • If your on pack information is not appearing in Partner Hub, please check that you have set the Displayed On Pack to GS1 New Zealand (as detailed at https://woolworths.my.salesforce.com/sfc/p/#7F000002Cfvo/a/Ie000000fyDC/rHNTSBtnEQP3KLlKkWLrjsz.DcRAhIRvbqOy5xUcHPQ)
    • If your on pack data is not visible in Partner Hub more than 24-hours after you have updated the on pack data source, please raise an Admin Case from within your Partner Hub account
    • On Pack details are checked by the Woolworths central team before being published to the website.
    • If your on pack information looks out of date, you can get this updated through your MyGS1 account 
  3. Rich Description - Woolworths NZ source this from NPC Publisher’s Trade Item Marketing Message or NPC Rapid’s Rich Description fields. 
    • The rich description is checked by the Woolworths central team before being published to the website.
  4. Title Descriptions - While your core product description is provided to Woolworths via NPC, the Online team has oversight and control of how the 'title' appears online. If you want that edited, contact digitalproductdata@woolworths.co.nz with the link to the item.

  1. Images - Foodstuffs take a daily feed of updated images from GS1's MediaLibrary. These also API into Foodstuffs eXchange. Images are stored within the Foodstuffs' National Image Repository and used online and in mailers. 
  2. On Pack 'Nutritional' Information - Foodstuffs has an API in to GS1's On Pack database to pull this information. Alternatively they source it from NPC or Products in the FS eXchange - they take the most up-to-date feed. 
  3. Rich Description - Foodstuffs source this from NPC's Trade Item Marketing Message attribute. It flows into their SAP system and they use it as a base for the Rich Description online. 
  4. Title Descriptions - While your core product description is provided to Foodstuffs via NPC, the Foodstuffs Online team have oversight and control of what description appears online. If you find any discrepancies in the description, the Foodstuffs Online team control getting this updated.
