This release contains features added to the Phase 3 2021 development plan. The goal of the release is to enhance existing features based on user feedback.
New Features
Changes to the Nutrient Range Filter
In the background of the database, we have added conversions of non-standard Nutritional Information values (Per 100 values only at this stage) into standardised units-of-measure (UOMs). The standard UOMs are as follows:
Nutrient |
Unit of measure |
Energy |
kJ |
Protein |
g |
Carbohydrate |
g |
Sugars |
g |
Total fat |
g |
Saturated fat |
g |
Sodium |
mg |
Dietary fibre |
g |
Folate |
μg |
This means that if a product has its Sugar values in kg, or its Energy values in kcal, etc., we still record it as kg and kcal, but in the background the database saves both the original values and converts it into grams and kilojoules.
When using the Nutrient Range filter (on the left-hand side bar), the filter searches on the converted values, rather than the original values.
Changes to the Excel download
An option to download standardised Per 100g/ml data has been added to the download box. Selecting this option replaces the original values in the Excel download with the converted ones.
A number of columns have been added to the Excel download.
1. Last Seen in Market Date Source (column G). This indicates the source of the Last Seen in Market Date that is provided in column F.
The sources are either "POS" or "Audit". "POS" is point-of-sale, as in IRi's point-of-sale data (last time it was scanned in a major supermarket). "Audit" gives an indication that we last saw the product in the market as part of an On Pack audit.
2. Folate and Dietary Fibre values (columns AK-AN and BC-BF). To ensure alignment between the Nutrient Range filter and the Excel download, we have added Folate and Dietary Fibre Per 100 and Per Serving values to the download.
Changes to the Product Detail Page
We have added the Last Seen in Market Date Source (described above) to the Product Detail Page.
