Making a New Product Introduction Request

This article covers making a New Product Introduction Request: 

- If you don’t have the final shelf ready product yet.

- If the final shelf ready product is available.

 

a) If you don’t have the final saleable product yet:

Selecting the following options will put the request through for an data check only and you will receive a Conditional Product Verification report

- Log in to MyGS1

- Type in your username and password.

- In the main menu, click "ProductFlow" and follow the steps below

Step 1: Select I have a new product that I wish to market.

Step 2: Select the required trading partner.

Step 3: Enter the product GTIN etc.

Step 4: Since the shelf ready product is not available, Images and barcode verification cannot be completed, select:

     Product Data: My product data is already loaded to National Product Catalogue.

     N.B. GS1 can enter the data into National Product Catalogue for you if you wish.

     Images: I cannot complete this requirement as the final product is not available.

     Barcode verification: I cannot complete this requirement as the final product is not available.

N.B Don’t open or request Inner / case barcode verification at this stage.

Step 5: Fill out details related to the product and the request

Step 6/7: Follow instructions and complete the request

You don’t need to send anything to GS1 for an Interim Product Verification report.

You and your trading partner will be sent a Conditional Product Verification report.

 

 b) If the final shelf ready product is available.

Selecting the following options will put the request through for full Product Verification.

- Log in to MyGS1

- Type in your username and password.

- In the main menu, click "ProductFlow" and follow the steps below

Step 1: Select I have a new product that I wish to market

Step 2: Select the required trading partner.

Step 3: Enter the product GTIN etc.

Step 4: Make your choices from the selections provided.

     Product Data: Make your choices from the selections provided.

N.B. GS1 can enter the data into National Product Catalogue for you if you wish.

      Images: Make your choices from the selections provided.

      Base, Inner / Case Barcode Verification:

          Make your choices from the selections provided.

Step 5: Fill out details related to the product and the request

Step 6/7: Follow instructions and complete the request

You must send the actual shelf ready base unit and flat inner / case to GS1 to verify the National Product Catalogue data and issue a full Product Verification report.

You and your trading partner will be sent a Full Product Verification report.
